Smol Ame is a platformer game made by indie developer KevinCow. It is a fan-made game based on Amelia Watson, a popular virtual YouTuber associated with hololive. Here, you will control a mini Amelia Watson as she jumps around various levels. The goal of the game is to complete each level as fast as possible. This is easier said than done. Each level is really difficult.  One wrong move and you will fall—or be stabbed—to your death.

How do you play the game?

Smol Ame is an easy-to-follow yet challenging role-playing game. As noted, it lets you control a mini version of the VTuber Amelia Watson as she tries to navigate around different levels. Each level features various worlds, including Amelia's office, a spider-filled world, and land planted with enormous carrots. Your goal is to get Ame to the end of the level and let her jump on a pink platform labeled MOM.

The game uses your keyboard for controls. To move, you can click the arrow keys or the WASD keys. Holding the R key will let you restart the level, while the ESC key allows you to go back to the homepage. The levels are designed in a way that you can easily fall to your death or be stabbed by falling giant arrows with one wrong move. Moreover, the controls are sometimes too sensitive as well.

Smol Ame is a time-based game. As such, your score depends on how long it takes you to finish the level. There is a score leaderboard available, which lets you see how well you fare against other players. There are no limits to your life. However, you will start from the beginning if you die. Unless you reach the area where a clock hovers midair. This clock serves as the level's save point. 

Fun and addictive

Overall, Smol Ame is a fun casual game. The gameplay is simple yet entertaining. You will find yourself playing it for hours on end. There are various levels available, each with a difficulty that is different from the other. Moreover, it comes with good visuals and an appealing background sound, which will hype you more as you play. The levels are hard to complete in a few minutes, but the challenge of doing better adds up to the game's replay value.
